Well this was nothing like the last two match ups against Arizona. Oregon came to play this week and wanted to show the world they were ready for anyone they would face in the first ever college playoff. Beating Arizona 51-13 to win the Pac 12 is not small task but Oregon stepped up and did just that. Mariota went 25-of-38 for 313 yards and two touchdowns through the air while adding 33 yards and three more scores on the ground. Solomon was benched at halftime after going 6-of-12 for 34 yards and then was benched at the half. This goes to show not only did Mariota and the offense show up to play but Ifo and the defense were on a mission to prove to the world that they are better then what people think. I would say that they did just that tonight and the world knows Oregon is a force to be reckoned with.

Many of us will remember this game for a few different reasons but most of all will be when Utah’s Kaelin Clay thought he had scored an impressive 78-yard touchdown grab but just before he crossed the goal line he dropped the ball. Oregon’s Erick Dargon stood atop the ball thinking for moment that they had given up the score but then looking at the officials and they confirming he did not score he attempted to pick it up and run the other way until he was hit and dropped the ball allowing Joe Walker to pick it up and run the ball 100 yards for a ducks touchdown. This was the beginning of the end for Utah because they never seemed to get back into the game and Oregon got comfortable. Clay later said "I know how important points are, so I take full responsibility,'' Clay said. "I got carried away.'' The Utes, who lead the nation in sacks, finished with four but this was not enough t keep the ducks from flying away with this one.
